Relej

RELEJ is a complex of terrains and it is placed at the very beginning of the West hillsides of Svrljig’s Mountains that are 1000m to 1300m high, and extend 30km to the East from Nish. Relej consists of central take off and 3 alternative starts that cover all wind directions except for East.

The altitude of the central site is 1020m asl and it’s capacity is up to 80 gliders. It is covered with grass and stones. Favorable winds here are from Southern quadrant.

Northern site is 200m far from the main, its altitude is 1010m asl, with capacity of 10 gliders. It is surrounded with short trees, with woods in the foothill and it is sutible for N and SE wind.
Next take off area is Gradac. It is placed 400m to the east from the central start. It’s altitude is 1000m asl, it is grassy and it’s capacity is up to 10 gliders. It allows taking off to SW from one, and to NW from another side.
Fakir’s start is 500m far from   the central to the NW. It is on 960m asl, grassy. It is possible to take off to W from one, and to N from another side. SW wind is not recommended because it produces horisontal rotors. Capacity is up to 10 gliders to W and 20 gliders to N.
One can reach Relaj driving the car from Sicevo. The road is 3/4 asphalt, and 1/4 is macadam, approx. The trip lasts for 30 minutes.
In the foothill of this terrain at NW, W and S side there are grassy fields suitable for landing. The altitude difference is 300m to 750m.
